Healthy Sleep Routine

As a new parent, you might have had to wake up in the night to feed & comfort your baby.

A baby’s sleep cycle varies as they sleep for almost 16 to 17 hours a day. Following a few simple rules may help you establish a healthy sleeping routine, ensuring a safe sleep environment for your baby.

Here are a few #HealthSleepingHabits to put to test today –
  • Make sure that your baby doesn’t go to bed on an empty stomach or too full as it might trouble him/her to settle down.
  • It’s best to place your child in their crib when they are sleepy but not asleep, allowing them to learn how to sleep on their own.
  • Golden Rule – Always place your child on their back while putting them to sleep as it reduces the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
  • Sleep Hymns – While comforting your baby to sleep, you can sing a lullaby or sleep hymns. The sweet tunes mimic a mother’s reassuring rhythms of love & care and might help the baby to fall asleep sooner

A good night’s sleep means that your baby doesn’t wake up too often. Try to understand & recognize their signs & ways of communication. If you face issues regularly, express your concerns to your doctor.
